Building a sustainable future for Australia’s First Peoples.
City Indigenous Group is an Aboriginal-owned facilities services business. We create meaningful, ongoing employment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people — and deliver commercial cleaning and property maintenance that protects our partners’ brands.
We are established so that every Australian has an equal opportunity to achieve and succeed.
City Indigenous Group is an Aboriginal-owned business committed to investing in a sustainable future for Australia’s First Peoples. As part of a rapidly evolving Indigenous business sector, we lead reconciliation initiatives that promote Indigenous employment — ensuring our people receive the best possible training and mentorship to excel in their roles.
The company was formed by David Fernando, a descendant of the Gamilaroi people of Northern New South Wales, and Mike Bell, a descendant of the Birpai people of the Camden Haven region. Our work is oriented toward reconciliation: driving Indigenous engagement and promoting supplier diversity.
Our shared vision is to become one of the largest Indigenous employers in the facilities sector, offering an improved quality of life for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the country. Alongside direct employment, we partner with related Indigenous supply businesses to maximise benefit to the wider community.
The people behind the work.
A leadership team that combines deep community standing, decades of facilities expertise, and a genuine commitment to Indigenous employment.
A respected leader in Sydney’s Aboriginal community, Mark chairs the Tribal Warrior Aboriginal Corporation and founded the Babana Aboriginal Men’s Group. He has served on the Redfern–Waterloo Authority’s Employment & Enterprise Advisory Committee and leads our engagement with government and corporate partners.
A Gamilaroi descendant with extensive ties across NSW communities, David has spent more than 40 years in project and programme management with local Aboriginal land councils and the Community Development Employment Project, working to create better employment outcomes for his people.

A Birpai descendant whose career spans investment banking across Australia, Europe and Asia, Mike has spent two decades building businesses that drive environmental and ethical change. He leads our facilities management development alongside leading property groups.

With 25 years in the facilities industry, Adam brings deep experience in negotiations, building maintenance, customer service and strategic planning. As senior point of contact for every client, he tailors each service to meet expectations — no two projects treated the same.
A career operations leader at home and abroad, Richard has run services for major international facility managers including ESS and BGIS. He oversees a team of trained professionals across offices, defence, healthcare and education — and champions Indigenous employee development.
Three decades of leadership across hospitality, healthcare and facilities — from managing City Gym during the Sydney 2000 Olympics to operations work spanning Greek islands. Michael builds the relationships that turn into employment opportunities for our people.

All pricing is derived in line with the Modern Award and Fair Work requirements. We do not use subcontractors. Every member of our team is a direct employee under the Modern Cleaning Award, offered the full spectrum of entitlements it provides.
We support the Fair Work Ombudsman’s efforts to keep Australian workplaces compliant, productive and inclusive. We remain responsive to the evolving needs of government and the communities we operate in — addressing barriers to employment and doing right by every employee in pay, opportunity and wellbeing.
Minimum pay can come from an award, an enterprise or registered agreement, or the national minimum wage — and we stay current with every government employment principle as it relates to pay.
Let’s create opportunity, together.
Partner with a facilities team that delivers exceptional service while building employment pathways for Australia’s First Peoples.
